With the Little League® International Board of Directors formally adopting USA Baseball’s new standard for bat performance testing, Little League International fully supports this program. Little League Baseball® has decided to adopt the new bat standard for mandated use effective January 1, 2018.
Please note that as of
January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard will be implemented. Little League-approved baseball bats that are approved for use for the 2017 season will
no longer be acceptable for use in ANY Little League game or activity starting on January 1, 2018. For more information on the USABat standard and a complete list of bats approved through the USABat Standard, visit usabat.com.
In short, ANY bat you may have for BASEBALL cannot be used any more unless it has a USA BAT stamp. This does NOT apply to softball. T-Ball bats can have a stamp attached to make them legal. The League will be providing these stamp for our t-ball players. This video on the LL Int'l website is a great short video explaining it.
