Important Season Information

PLL Families,

As many of you are aware, Governor Hogan has placed a ban on public events with more than 250 people. In addition to that, Little League International has also placed a temporary ban on all Little League activities out of caution. While there are not any cases of 'the virus' locally, we, like the leagues around us will halt all LL activities with the EXCEPTION of registration. We're postponing the player assessments previously scheduled for this Saturday at PMS. We will notify everyone of a new date as soon as possible. The LL ban is through April 6, unless extended. This will also delay the notification of teams as everything is pushed back.

Opening Day is still tentatively set for April 18, 2020. We will be monitoring the ban Governor Hogan placed and will adjust accordingly.

In the mean time we ask a few things for you to help us, help you.

1. Practice with your kids to help them knock the rust off.

2.Register, Register, Register!

We're only at around 2/3 of the players we had last year registered so far. We know many were probably waiting until this weekend to sign up at assessments. Since we're cancelling assessments, we will be doing sign-ups at the bowling alley this Saturday from 10 until Noon. If you do not wish to attend in person, we ask that you please go on and register asap as this will help us start determining the amount of teams and coaches we need. Signups can be done from your phone, tablet or computer at www.pocomokelittleleague.com

Having people registered will be a TREMENDOUS help to us at the future assessment date. We will be on a major time crunch once this ban is lifted.

This is the final week of regular registration. After Saturday, a $20 late fee will be added to registrations. This is needed to cover the extra cost associated with late ordering.

3. Spread the word! Most Princess Anne and Westover players are now eligible to play for PLL! Regardless of any rumors you may have heard, Little League Int'l has approved the new boundary lines as well as the local area league Presidents. If a child goes to school at Holly Grove, Princess Anne Elementary, Greenwood Elementary or Washington High School, they now have the option to play for PLL or where they live.

4. Keep the hand washing game strong!

We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes. On the bright side, we're looking good so far this year and are looking forward to a great season! If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
